My Blog Makeover!
This is kind of a random post, but I'm going to post it anyway. :) One of my best friends from high school, Carolynn Reynolds (her maiden name is Buchanan) has a website that has free blog backgrounds. It's http://myblogmakeover.blogspot.com/
That is where I get all these fun backgrounds for my blog! She's really talented and she has created all sorts of really cool backgrounds ranging from holidays like 4th of July and Mothers Day to the seasons and just solid colors. She can even create a custom background for a small fee! So go check out http://myblogmakeover.blogspot.com/!

Looks like I'm in Battle of the Dance again!
So the other day, I was walking around my complex and a friend of mine from my ward last semester saw me and was like "Hey Heather! You should try out for Battle of the Dance and clog in it!" I was confused because the auditions were held the week before, which is why I didn't try out, but apparently they didn't get enough people the first time. So members of the committee were recruiting people. I told her I would and I was planning on having my team members from Collegiate dance with me, but they were all busy. So I ended up picking a song (the theme to the Disney channel series "Kim Possible") and choreographing a dance to it. I have green cargo pants and a modest black long-sleeve shirt that look like the ones Kim wears, so I am set to go. I auditioned yesterday and the show is on Saturday. I hope I do ok! I'll have to tweak my dance a little bit to make sure it looks good, but yeah. I wasn't planning on doing BOTD this semester, but I suppose performing a solo clogging routine will be fun.

It's reached that point again in the semester....

It's probably the most stressful and somewhat depressing time of the semester: midterms. I was talking about this with a friend a few days ago about how midterms seem to be more stressful and exhausting than finals because at least with finals, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. With midterms, you know that you still have a month and a half left before you can get to the light and it only makes you more stressed and exhausted.
Not only am I feeling the stress with my classes, but just the fact that I am getting closer and closer to graduating and I feel like I'm never going to make it. I've just gotta keep pushing along. I know I can do it. Even if I've lost the motivation to do homework, I have to keep going.

After serving an honorable 2 years, he's HOME!!!
I am so so so so so SO excited that my baby brother Tyler is home from his mission! It's been a crazy busy day for our family. My parents and I got to the airport around 9:30-45isih and Ty's plane was scheduled to get in at like 10:15. While we were waiting, Mike and Michelle and Rachel showed up (Rachel is the cutest baby in the world!!!) and then Jenn and her kids showed up.
When Tyler finally came down the escalator, I got so excited. I got a ton of pictures, but I'll have to post them later cause I'm pooped. I've spent basically the entire day with my family and it's been awesome. I do have to say, though, that my absolute favorite part of the day was when we went to breakfast after we picked Tyler up from the airport. We went to IHOP and had breakfast there as a family. The best part about it is that it was EVERYONE in our immediate family!! I was sitting in the middle so I got to see both sides, but on the boys' side it was Dad, Mike, Tyler, and Zehn and on the either end it was Mom, Jenn, Sasha, Rachel, Michelle, and me. For the first time in two years, I got to spend a morning with my whole family. Jenn and her kids were there, Mike and Michelle and Rachel were there, Tyler was there, and so were my parents. I wish I'd been able to get a picture with all of us at breakfast, but its kinda hard to do that when you're trying to control a 1 1/2 year old girl, a 3 month old girl, and an almost 7 year old boy.
I'll try to post some pictures of yesterday soon.

About Me
I am an optimist. I prefer to be happy and look at the bright side of things than point out all the things that are wrong. I am a very unique person. My family is one of the most important things in the world to me. I love basically anything Disney, but my particular favorites are Mickey & Minnie, Beauty and the Beast (Belle especially), Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Little Mermaid. I have lots of Disney favorites, but those are just a few. I love reading children's literature and watching cartoons and movies for kids. I am an Elementary Education major and I absolutely love kids. I honestly feel more comfortable when I am doing things with kids than I am with adults. I hope to be married with a family someday, but in the meantime, I'm living up the single life and enjoying every new experience I get!
I love to dance!
